PROJECT:                             Educational Program Funding

ASSIGNED LIAISON:            President-Elect

COMPOSITION:                    Appointed by President-Elect

PROJECT RESPONSIBILITY DESCRIPTION:

To evaluate the requests for funding for education program use.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Serve as the liaison between the education programs and the Board of Directors.

  2. Present requests for funding to the Board for approval.

  3. Notify the education program of the Board’s decision.

PROCEDURES:

The Board of Directors has approved funding for each of the six education programs in the state of Missouri.  These funds are to be used by the education program to develop their educational offerings or to assist in pursuing research opportunities. 

  1. In June of each year, chairs of the HIA/HIT programs in the state are notified of the availability and amount of funds.  (See Attachment A)

  2. Requests for funding are to be put on the Request Form.  One request per form.                     (See Attachment B)

  3. Funds must be requested 45 days in advance.  The amount may be utilized at one time, or may be used throughout the year.  BOD approval is required.

  4. Funds may be used for:

  • Software

  • Faculty attendance at continuing education programs

  • Reference materials

  • Research projects

  • Other costs directly related to teaching and scholarly activities. 

  1. Any funds not utilized during the MHIMA association year will be forfeited.
