The School of Nursing and Health Professions/HIM Program is seeking a full-time, tenure-track faculty member with expertise in health information management/health informatics and electronic health record systems to teach in a Health Information Management baccalaureate program beginning August 19’. This full-time position will also take the role of Health Information Management Program Coordinator. This is not a remote position. Responsibilities include classroom and online teaching, development and evaluation of curriculum, program assessment, use of computer simulation, development/supervision of professional practice experience sites, advising students, scholarship and professional development related to the teaching and practice of health informatics/information management; providing departmental/university support. Candidate will be responsible for maintaining, evaluating and assessing the program based on the CAHIIM accreditation requirements. Candidate will also be responsible for all university program assessment and reporting requirements.
Master’s degree in related field, RHIA certification, combination of education and experience in health informatics or health information management. Collegiate teaching experience.
Doctorate in related field, active membership in the American Health Information Management Association, and experience in online instruction.
