Would you like to serve on the OAHIMA Board of Directors? Do you know someone who would be a great addition to the Board? Then take this opportunity to make your voice heard.
In June, the OAHIMA Membership will elect officers to the OAHIMA Board of Directors for the positions of President-Elect, Office Coordinator, and Director of Education. If you are receiving this email blast and are a current, active member of AHIMA, you are eligible to participate in this election and be on the board. As a reminder, the geographical area for OAHIMA is all counties along and south of the Missouri River, including ALL of St Louis County, regardless of township.
- Duties of President-Elect
The President-Elect shall act in place of the President in the absence of the President and shall exercise such other duties as may be delegated to the office by the Board. It is a 3-year commitment: 1 year as President-Elect, then 1 year as President, and 1 year as Past President. - Duties of the Office Coordinator
This role is a 2-year commitment.
Duties of the Office Coordinator. The Office Coordinator shall report periodically and as requested to the Board of Directors and shall provide regular updates to Directors between Board meetings on OAHIMA’s activities. The Office Coordinator shall maintain appropriate meeting minutes and records and assist with meeting agendas and record-keeping for the OAHIMA Board of Directors. The Office Coordinator shall serve on the Board of Directors ex officio with a vote as a Professional Member of OAHIMA. - Duties of the Director of Education
This role is a 2-year commitment.
Duties of the Director of Education. The Director of Education shall maintain speaker information for the Board and assist in coordinating educational activities presented by OAHIMA.

Nomination deadline is Wednesday, June 17, 2026. Voting will take place Sunday, June 21 – Saturday, June 27. Elected officials will assume their office on July 1, 2026, with the board reorganization meeting being held mid-July.
