Bylaw Change Proposal

After careful consideration, the OAHIMA Board is proposing a revision to our association bylaws. We believe that this revision will make the organization more efficient and ensure fiscal soundness annually.

Article IX

Fiscal Year
To change our Fiscal Year to end on July 31 rather than June 30.

New FY

Aug 1 to July 31.

Reason for Proposed Change

Easier financial record keeping.

Rationale

Because we have a summer meeting in June, the financial records for this meeting are finalized in July because KnowledgeConnex provides financial details in the middle of the month for the previous month. This technically puts our financial details for the summer meeting in 2 fiscal years rather than 1 which is confusing.

We encourage all OAHIMA members to review and consider this change before voting. Electronic voting will be held from the time period of August 29, 2022, through September 3, 2022.
